–Jeremie in Double Take. | ||
Aelita's Angel Wings were a newly integrated feature added to her Lyoko Avatar as part of the upgrades Jeremie had made to the team's digital equipment. These upgrades were implemented at some point between William Returns and Double Take. Although they aren't an actual vehicle, Flight via these wings is used as a semi-regular mode of alternative transportation for Aelita as well as a means of escape in emergency situations. They were first used by her in Double Take.
The Wings can be activated manually by waving a hand over or having an object (i.e. Odd's Laser Arrows) interact with Aelita's star-shaped bracelet. This causes the wings to appear out of the area of her back where the shoulder blades would be. The wings can also trigger automatically in situations where Aelita's altitude plummets suddenly as seen in Double Take and Guided Missile, however this feature seems to be suppressed if the wings have been recently disabled or if Aelita is unconscious or ensnared within Super Smoke.
The wings themselves are both luminescent and translucent, consisting of a sort of hot pink energy. They usually disappear automatically when Aelita lands, however they can be re-summoned again quickly if needed. Aelita retains the ability call upon her other powers such as her Energy Fields or Creativity when airborne, giving her both high mobility and flexibility in combat. Though Aelita's top flight speed rivals that of the terrestrial vehicles, she just barely loses to William's Super Smoke in terms of movement. This was demonstrated in Aelita's race through the Ice Sector in Guided Missile.
If Aelita is attacked while in flight, the wings will disappear instantly, sending her plummeting to the ground. Interestingly enough, although her Lyoko Avatar might show signs of damage once shot down, Aelita herself does not lose any Life Points if she is attacked while her wings are active. This is best demonstrated in Kadic Bombshell, where Aelita takes off after summoning her wings, but is immediately grounded by an Energy Slash, an attack that would usually defeat any Lyoko Warrior in a single hit. When Aelita's wings are forcibly recalled this way, it takes a bit of time for them to be re-summonable again.

Trivia
- Aelita has used her wings to protect other members of the group, saving both Yumi and Odd from falling into the Digital Sea by carrying them back onto the terrain. In a way, she is figuratively and literally the group's guardian angel.
- Upon her first use of her wings, Aelita remarked that Jeremie was "the wind beneath her wings." earning a blush from the latter.
- When introduced in Double Take, the wings were implied to work as a failsafe whenever Aelita was in danger of falling into the Digital Sea. This was likely implemented by Jeremie after the group's revelation that X.A.N.A. was determined to drag Aelita into the sea via William, inspiring this feature in the wings.
- In Kadic Bombshell, it is shown that other virtual objects can interact with her bracelet and trigger her wings, as shown when Odd fired a Laser Arrow at it mid-fall.
- As a specter, Aelita's bracelet does not appear on her avatar. As a result, its assumed she does not retain her ability to fly while on Earth in this form.
- Aelita has a hard limit of how many individuals her wings can support. On her own she is capable of flying freely, however when carrying someone, she flies considerably slower and is shown struggling to maintain lift.
